What is a fanlisting?
According to TheFanlistings.org, it is a place for fans of a particular subject to unite and build an international listing. This one is of course dedicated to
the song "The Dark World", from the videogame The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
The Song
As mentioned, the song appears in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. It is the theme of the area that once was the Sacred Realm;
it is a twisted land, thanks to Ganon corrupting it with his seizure of the
Triforce. The Dark World is a strange place, a kind of inversion of Hyrule. Here, the stones are skulls and the water runs dark and foul instead of clear and clean.
People even change forms based on their nature. Indeed, Link changes into a pink
rabbit, without an item to prevent the transformation.
Fortunately for me and other fans of the song, the theme has been remixed and featured in
Super Smash Brothers Brawl for Nintendo Wii. It is a background song for
the Bridge of Eldin battle stage, as well as for areas in the Story Mode. I am very fond of this new version of it, and cannot wait to have it on my MP3 player. It's
rather addictive!
